About Blue Fish : Dr. Amanda Brack

Dr. Brack

Dr. Amanda Brack was born and raised in Amarillo, TX. While growing up in the panhandle and as early as high school, she had the desire to be a pediatrician. She studied biology while attending Belhaven College, a liberal arts school in Jackson, Mississippi. She came back to her home state to attend medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and graduated in 2003. She completed her pediatric residency at Baylor College of Medicine-affiliated hospitals where she gained a broad experience working in the Houston Medical Center at Ben Taub and Texas Children’s Hospitals. Dr. Brack completed her residency in 2006 and became board certified in pediatrics and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics in 2007. Following residency, she worked part time for a private clinic in Memorial, gaining valuable knowledge and experience about the local community. She subsequently joined Bluefish Pediatrics in October of 2007 and considers it a great joy to job share with her sister, Dr. Secily Torn, who has been with Bluefish for several years. She and her sister both share a desire to join their love and compassionate care for children with Bluefish’s commitment to evidence-based, preventative medicine.

Dr. Brack met her husband, Collin, in her home town of Amarillo while in high school. They married after finishing college in 1999 and today have three children: Luke, Liz Grace, and Catherine. She and her family are members of Christ the King Presbyterian Church and enjoy teaching Sunday school to the toddlers. Throughout her life, Dr. Brack has enjoyed ballet and volleyball but is now tackling the tasks of potty training, breast feeding, and other full-contact parental activities – all of which she loves!
