About Blue Fish : Dr. Suyearn Yu

Dr. Suyearn Yu was born and raised in Austin, Texas. She attended Anderson High School and graduated from Brown University in 2002, where she majored in Biology and minored in Neuroscience. She graduated from Baylor College of Medicine in 2006 and completed her residency training at Baylor College of Medicine-affiliated hospitals in the Houston Medical Center at Texas Children’s and Ben Taub hospitals.  She is board certified in pediatrics. Following residency, she worked at NightLight Pediatrics, an after-hours urgent care pediatric practice, where she gained valuable experience dealing with a broad array of pediatric health issues until joining Bluefish Pediatrics in the spring of 2010.

Dr. Yu met her wonderful husband, Jay, at church and was married in 2007. She has a special interest in discussing newborn care and breastfeeding with families.  Dr. Yu can also speak Korean and Spanish.

Dr. Yu attends New Life Fellowship Baptist Church. She loves to travel to new places, read, and spend time with her precious son, Micah and her daughter Sofia.  Eating is also a beloved pastime, and she never passes up an opportunity to indulge in her favorite food – sushi!
